The Longest Hike in Bergen Experience

Vidden is known for being the longest most beautiful track in the city of Bergen 13 km long around 8,8 miles where the landscape changes from stone raw, grey, sometimes dry* mountains where the sky is all above you to dense , green , wet , fully inaccessible forest where the tip of the trees are difficult to be seen if we don’t bend our heads completely to look up.
Don’t be scared this is a medium/hard track absolutely amazing with docens of viewpoints , several perspectives of the city , fjords , islands and the ocean beyond , where we can freely breath the purest air in town drink pure mountains clear water and during the sessions even enjoy tasting the wild berries that grow all over, while we hike towards the city , having a great time.
No matter if you’re a city specimen, living in a place surrounded by big buildings that can barely see the stars on the sky due to pollution, or you are a wild country side let me alone type of person, visiting Bergen for a day , this might be the place you want to be.

This is the most complete hike around the city, surrounded by trees and breathing pure air, we will take a walk that will be absolutely worth it , the views are impressive, multitude of lakes, many mountains and cliffs surrounding Bergen, the forests, different perspectives of the city and the archipelago beyond it, if we do it on snowy days the walk is idyllic
Even though It’s a route has not high unevenness, parts of the hike are on uneven terrain and depending on the weather the terrain can be muddy and slippery.
Correct footwear and waterproof clothing will help keep you safe and warm.
You might need to bring waterproof shoes, clothes for the cold and wind, enough water and food.
As we say in Norway there’s no such thing as bad weather your clothes aren’t just good enough.
Take note that there are few opportunities to use the toilet while hiking Vidden. The toilet at Brushytten is the last opportunity when hiking from Fløyen, from Ulriken the last toilet is at the upper cable car station.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the tour start.
